Returns and Warranty Policy
1. Introduction
At The Film Shop, we strive to ensure that every customer is fully satisfied with their purchase.
This Returns and Warranty Policy explains how we handle returns, exchanges, refunds and product warranties.
2. 30-Day Return Policy
You may return an item within 30 days of the delivery date for a refund, exchange, or store credit provided that:

The item is unused, unopened, and in its original packaging.

The product is returned with the original receipt or proof of purchase.

The item is not excluded under our “Non-Returnable Items” section below.
If you change your mind or are not fully satisfied, you may return the product at your own cost for a refund or exchange within the 30-day period.
3. Eligibility for Returns
You are eligible for a return if:

The product is defective, damaged, or not as described.

You received the wrong product or the incorrect quantity.

You wish to return a product within 30 days, and it remains unopened and in resalable condition.
To qualify for a full refund, returned items must include:
- Original product packaging (box, foam inserts, plastic bags)
- All included accessories, cables, manuals and documentation.
- All original contents as was shipped to you.
4. Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned or refunded unless defective or damaged on arrival:

Digital products, downloads or gift cards.

Opened or used products.
-
Items damaged by misuse, negligence or unauthorized repair.

Clearance or sale items marked “non-returnable”.
5. Return Process
To request a return:

Email support@thefilmshop.co.za within 30 days of delivery.

Include your order number, a brief description of the issue and photos (if applicable).

Once your request is approved, we’ll provide you with return instructions.

Returns must be sent via The Courier Guy or PostNet, depending on your original delivery option.

If the return is due to a defective or incorrect item, we will cover the courier cost.

If the return is due to a change of mind, the customer is responsible for courier costs.
6. Refunds

Once your returned item has been received and inspected, you will be notified via email.

Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 business days via your original payment method.

Refunds exclude original delivery fees unless the return is due to an error or defective product.

If an item is not returned in its original condition, a partial refund or store credit may be issued.
7. Exchanges
You may request an exchange for another item within 30 days if:

The product is unused and in its original packaging.

The replacement item is in stock.
If the replacement product costs more, you’ll be asked to pay the difference before dispatch.
8. Defective or Damaged Products
If your item arrives damaged, or develops a fault within the warranty period:

Notify us at support@thefilmshop.co.za within 30 days of noticing the issue.

Provide clear photos and your proof of purchase.

We’ll assess and, where applicable:

Repair the item,

Replace it with a new one, or
-
Offer a full refund if repair or replacement isn’t possible.

9. Product Warranty
Unless otherwise stated, all products sold by The Film Shop carry a six-month warranty against manufacturing defects.
The warranty does not cover:

Normal wear and tear
-
Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or improper handling

Products altered or repaired by unauthorized service providers
If a manufacturer provides a longer warranty, it will be indicated on the product or packaging.
10. Digital Products
For digital products or downloads:

Refunds or exchanges are only granted if the file is inaccessible, corrupted or not as described.

Customers should contact support@thefilmshop.co.za for assistance with download issues.
11. Incorrect or Missing Items
If you receive an incorrect or incomplete order:

Notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

We’ll arrange the correct item to be sent to you at no additional cost or issue a refund.
